
Colloseum from the south. The hill to the right is basically a 5-story deep roman ruin. Underground is the remains of a portion of Nero’s palace, and above is a park full of the ruins of Trajan’s baths, which are full of junkies and homeless people, as they have been basically forever.

Outside. Standard Rome building, perhaps last painted in Mussolini’s time. Fortunately the city is sliding back into its old sooty funkiness after the big cleanup for the Giubileo in 2000.
